Your closet stays yours.

This policy explains how Latimerart LLC ("we", "us") handles information in the Closet iPhone app and on closetstylistapp.com. If you have a question, email support@closetstylistapp.com.

What we collect

Information you give us

• Account details: your email address, password (stored only as a secure hash) and first name.
• Birth date for the age check: we ask for your birth date at sign-up to confirm you're 13 or older, and use it only for that check.
• Wardrobe: photos of your clothes, shoes and accessories, and details such as type, color, occasion, brand and what you paid.
• Plans and preferences: events you add (such as a name, date and dress code), saved looks, your style quiz answers, color corrections and the outfits you log as worn.
• Messages to us: anything you send to support, and your email if you join the beta list on this website.

Information collected automatically

• Usage counts: we count how many AI requests each account makes so we can apply plan limits and fair-use caps.
• Technical logs: our hosting providers keep short-lived server logs (such as IP address, device type and time of request) for security and troubleshooting.
• Subscription status: if you subscribe, Apple processes the payment. We receive your plan and renewal status, not your card details.

Information that stays on your iPhone

• Location: if you allow it, Closet uses your location on your iPhone to get today's forecast from Apple Weather. We don't store your location. Only a short weather summary (for example "High 61°, light rain") is sent with an outfit request.
• Face ID: if you lock Closet with Face ID, Apple handles it on your device. We never receive your face data.

How we use it

• To run Closet: store your wardrobe, detect colors, suggest outfits, plan events, and show cost per wear and wardrobe health.
• To manage your account and subscription, including plan limits.
• To send emails you need, such as sign-up confirmation, password resets and, if you asked, a beta invite.
• To keep Closet safe: preventing abuse, enforcing our Terms and meeting legal obligations.
• To fix bugs and improve Closet, using your data only within our service.

We don't sell or rent your personal information, share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, or show ads in Closet.

AI features

Closet uses Claude, an AI model from Anthropic, to detect the color of a piece and to suggest outfits. When you use these features we send Anthropic the garment photo or the relevant wardrobe details, your style preferences and a short weather summary. Anthropic processes this to return a result for us. Under its commercial terms, it does not use this data to train its models. AI suggestions in Closet are always labeled, and you can correct any color the AI gets wrong.

Closet is meant for photos of clothing. Please don't upload photos of people. Closet may run automated checks to keep other content out of the service.

Who we share it with

We share information only with service providers that help us run Closet, under contracts that limit how they can use it:

We may also disclose information when the law requires it, to protect someone's safety, or as part of a merger or sale of the business. If a sale happens, this policy will continue to apply to your information.

How long we keep it

We keep your information while your account is open. When you delete your account in Settings, we delete your account, photos and wardrobe data from our live systems right away. Copies in routine backups are removed as those backups expire. We may keep a limited record when the law requires it. Beta list emails are deleted once the beta ends, or sooner if you ask.

Your choices and rights

• Delete: go to Settings › Delete account in the app, or email us.
• Correct: edit any piece, event or preference in the app.
• Access or export: email us and we'll send you a copy of your data.
• Location and notifications: turn them off any time in iPhone Settings.

Depending on where you live (for example California, the EU or the UK), you may have extra rights to access, correct, delete or move your data, and to object to or limit some processing. We honor those requests for everyone, wherever you live. Email us and we'll respond within 30 days. We won't treat you differently for using these rights. If you're in the EU or UK, you can also complain to your local data protection authority.

Children

Closet is for people 13 and older, and we check age at sign-up. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you think a child under 13 has given us information, email us and we'll delete it. If you're under 18, please use Closet with a parent or guardian's permission.

Security

Your data is encrypted in transit and stored with access controls, so each account can reach only its own wardrobe. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong password and keep it to yourself.

This website

closetstylistapp.com doesn't use cookies or advertising trackers. We use Vercel Web Analytics to count page views. It works without cookies, doesn't follow you across other sites, and gives us only totals such as page views, referring sites, country and device type. Fonts load from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address to deliver them.

Where data is processed

We're based in the United States, and our providers may process data in the United States and other countries. Where the law requires it, we use appropriate safeguards for those transfers.

Changes

If we make a significant change to this policy, we'll tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect. The date at the top shows the latest version.
